  • Notice to be published Feb 1, 2005
  • $14.7 million for multiple program areas including buildings, distributed generation, and alternative fuels
  • Application deadline expected to be mid April

Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP)
  • Must partner with a federal agency
  • FEMP primarily provides technical assistance to federal agencies

FEMP
  • Capital projects may use alternative financing such as:
    • Energy Savings Performance Contract
    • Utility Energy Savings Contract
    • Public Benefits Charge

Voluntary Airport Low Emission (VALE)
  • Primary purpose is to reduce emissions at airport facilities
  • Energy conservation is secondary
  • FAA worked with other federal agencies to create program (EPA and the DOE Clean Cities program)
  • Finances low- emission vehicles, refueling and recharging stations, gate electrification, and other airport air quality improvements

VALE
  • Ten airports selected for pilot program, $500,00 per airport
  • Program may be expanded in future

ENERGY STAR
  • EPA/DOE program focused on facility energy management
  • Provides technical assistance for lighting, heating and cooling systems, and energy efficient appliances
